Amber's Baby Girl Shower
On Friday, we had Amber's baby shower. We did it at her new house, so she could give tours and let everyone know where her new residence was. (I know the decor looks familiar, but if it ain't broke, why fix it?!) :o)
Amber's good friend Amy, made these little petite fore cakes. They were so cute and tasty.
Aubree (Amy's daughter), Taylee and Rylee got the privilege of coming to the "big girl party". Rylee told me later, "Mom, I wasn't sure if a Baby Shower would be that much fun and didn't think I really wanted to go... but it WAS really fun! I'm glad I got to go." Silly girl, big girl parties are always fun!
Karen, Deon (Brinton's mom), Amber, Candice, and Aunt Jana.
Candice, Aunt Jana, Rylee, Tawnya (still pregnant!), Jayma (Amber's friend), Grandma Ison, Kortney (Brinton's sister), Mom/Grandma McKinley with Baby Sydney.
Amy was in charge of the game, Baby Concentration. Some of us were really, really good, others (like myself) were very, very bad at the memory thing! We all helped one another and earned candy bar prizes for each match. Example: Umbilical Cord = red rope licorice, Conception = Skor, Grandparents = Sugar Daddy, Delivery = Push pop, etc.

She's probably heard all of my advice time and time again, but I told her not to feel too guilty about letting the baby swing for as long as she needs...even if it's several hours during the night. :o)
Amber received some really nice gifts. We ooo-ed and ahhh-ed over the cute outfits and loved the homemade taggy and flannel strip blanket, made by her good friends, Jayma and Amy.
Gifts galore!

In FULL Bloom
Last week, we celebrated our dad's birthday, by getting together for banana cream pie (his favorite). I took the opportunity to get some pictures of my sister's with their cute pregnant tummies.
Tawnya's due date was March 3rd (and this was March 19th!). Amber's due date April 15th.
Tawnya's other due date was March 15th. After an another ultrasound/exam, her midwife thinks that the later due date is more accurate...but still overdue!Tuesday, March 17, 2009
I-D-A-H-O
"I-D-A-H-O, I-D-A-H-O, I-D-A-H-O and Idaho was it's name-o."Yesterday, Taylee took part in her 4th grade school program. It was about the culture history of Idaho; Native Americans, Basque Americans, African Americans, etc. Most of the songs had instrument accompaniment.
(Taylee is right in the middle, 4 rows down, wearing a white shirt and red scarf.)

Dinner & a Show

We were greeted by dressed up people asking us what we were wearing. I didn't want to admit it was probably Wal-mart or a thrift store find. :o)
We walked down the red carpet and watched the red carpet performers, then headed to the gym.

The stage was set.
Oscar was there.
Because I was gone the week before, we chose not to do a performance, but Taylee and Treyson both entered artwork.
Taylee entered a booklet she had done at school, "Sara Plain and Tall" (with very nice illustrations) and a sticker collage.
The sticker collage was like a house with different rooms; bedroom, bathroom, outside front and the whole neighborhood map. I liked looking at the bedroom with the 3 roommates and all of their stuff.
Treyson drew a giraffe eating from an apple tree. He tells me that his very favorite animal is the giraffe. ---I turned in the artwork, the day before, to the ward member who was in charge of the show. She has a 6 yr old little boy named Conner. When we got to the show, we noticed a very similar giraffe picture next to Treyson's. The artist of the second picture was Conner. So cute. Coincidence? I don't think so...but so, so cute.Some of the highlights of the show were;
-The Dunn family dancing to "Hey Mr. DJ". --A single mom with 3 kids all took turns coming out, standing on a little table and showing us their moves. They were so cute and boy do they have some moves. I was totally impressed by the mom...she can dance!
-I also liked hearing the Bishop sing two numbers. He has an awesome powerful voice.
-The boy scouts of course did a corny skit, that made us all laugh.
-Also an awesome piano number, written and performed by a primary-age kiddo.
So much talent and so well organized and attended. Fun was had by all.
