Cantus Finale

Rylee's last Cantus concert for the season was fun.
The Finale concert is always my favorite. They get to sing a variety of songs that we all know and love...many 80's songs this time!
As usual their performance was great.
After the concert there was a little reception and refreshments. Jason and I hung out, while Rylee ran around and talked to friends and took pictures.
Melissa Brown
Rosalyn Engerberson & Riley Mortensen

Amy Whitcomb was the guest artist/singer.
She performed on the t.v. show "The Sing Off" in the group Delilah.
Mrs. McCauley (Cantus director) used to teach Amy in Middle School.

Rylee says, "I'm so sad it's over, and can't wait until next year!!!"

5th Grade Music Program

In 5th Grade, you learn about the United States.
Treyson and classmates sang about the "Nifty Fifty", as well as traveling musically through time.

Treyson had a part dancing to Elton John's "Crocodile Rock".
Check out his good friend Dylan (blue shirt)...doesn't he looked thrilled? So funny. Treyson was having a good time though. :)
Good job Treyson!

Teacher Appreciation

To show our appreciation to our teachers this year, we gave them each one of these.
Treyson & Abree also included a personal note of appreciation.
No surprise...I got the idea from Pinterest here.

Pinewood Derby

This year's Pinewood Derby, was Treyson's last in Cub Scouts.

He and Jason worked hard several days to complete it.
The Cub Master did a good job of setting up the track and talking to the kids. He talked to them about "keeping his word". He had borrowed the track and promised he would return it in good condition. He gave them the rules and had each of them promise to help him keep his word and obey the rules.
The kids did awesome! Not one kid jumped over the track or crossed the yellow line. With probably 25-30 Cub Scouts (plus siblings) in attendance...I would consider it a small miracle.

Treyson said, "I'm glad I didn't come in last all the time...and I even came in 1st... once!!!"
He was satisfied with that. :)

Taylee the Teen!!!

Taylee said to me one day, "Mom, I wish I had pictures of all my friends."
I said, "Well, why don't you plan a day to go to the park and take pictures of one another?"
Then a light bulb went off... "Why don't we do it for your birthday?!"
So a very quick invitation was made and an impromptu birthday party was thrown together. ---The plan; meet at the park, take lots of fun/weird/cute photos, eat munchies & play games.
Party favor..gum attached.
Taylee's favorite color is orange.
We put an orange flower balloon out, to designate where to meet us in the park.
We fought the wind, cooler weather and almost another park goer (a little story in it's self), but I think the girls had fun.

Sorry, bad idea.

 Oh, you're all so cute!
We didn't bring a candle, so Taylee used a jellybean and we sang Happy Birthday to her.
 Munchie time.
 Gift time.

 We LOVE you Taylee!!!
She received so many fun/cute gifts;  fingernail polish/accessories, craft supplies, scrapbook paper/stickers, cute shirt, ice cream sandwich maker/cookie dough mix, candy, friendship bracelet, lip gloss, blue mascara and make-up bag.
One of Taylee's favorite gifts was this cool bird/cage necklace.

The next day, she celebrated with our family.
Happy 13th Birthday Taylee!!!
We LOVE you.
