Happy Father's Day!

Most years we spend Father's Day away from home. It's the weekend of our annual cousin party. This year was no exception.
We found a quiet spot in JC and Julia's house and had Jason open gifts from us.
The kids gave him all sorts of his favorite goodies.

My gift to him was a Lego Star Wars wall hanging.
I saw this on Pinterest (shocked aren't you?!). My version was a little different, but I was satisfied with it. That is until he unwrapped it. Poor Luke Skywalker and Obi wan had taken a fall.

Happy Father's Day Jason... our kids are lucky to have you as their dad!!!

Father's Day

We spent Father's Day in Utah (again) this year.

After church and a spaghetti lunch, we opened gifts and hung out.
I gave Dad Smullin the card I made for him, along with a package of his favorite candy bars,
3 Musketeers.

Jason received some books, candy and an X-Box 360 game he had been wanting.
Such a bummer that his 360 stopped working just recently. :(

5 Reasons Dad Smullin is a great father:

-He taught his children to work hard (by example).

-He tells his children he is proud of them and hugs them.

-He finds humor in life and laughs with his children.

-He has a tender heart toward each of his children and their families.

-He has a love of the gospel and shares that with his children.

5 Reasons Jason is a great father:

-He likes to spend time with each of his children, one-on-one and together.

-He doesn't take himself too seriously and likes to joke around with his children.

-He LOVES babies.

-He works hard to support his family.

-He continues to listen/learn from the spirit and guides his children in the gospel.

5 Reasons my dad is a great father:

-He has unquestionable faith and follows the commandments with strict obedience.

-He is honest and has taught his children to be.

-He likes being with his children and their families, even if it's just to "hang out".

-He's strong.

-He loves each of his children deeply and wants the best for them.

I appreciate the father's I have in my life. I appreciate their examples and love.

I love you!

Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day Cards

***It is now safe to post this.***

This year, I wanted to make cards for Father's Day..for our dads.

I had Treyson and Abree help me with Grandpa Waite's.

I printed off pictures and logos of some classic luxury cars.

Then had Treyson and Abree draw them.
These were Abree's drawings.

Isn't her Jaguar logo so cute?

I cut out Treyson's cars and the printed off logos, then made this card.

"Grandpa, didn't know whether you wanted a (Cadillac, BMW, Jaguar) for Father's Day..."

"So here's a shiny LINCOLN!"

Finally found a good use for this cool big plastic coin. :)

Do you think he'll like it?

This is the one that I made for Jason's dad.

"tootsie pop"

"corn pops"

"lollipop"

"pop tart"

"soda pop"

"popcorn"

"best pop ever"

"My POP ROCKS"

Happy Father's Day Dads!

Happy Father's Day!

Instead of hurrying home, the day after the Cousin Party, we decided to stay in Ogden with Jason's parents 2 nights.
Sunday was Father's Day, so we celebrated there.
When we got home from church, Jason opened his Father's Day gifts from us.
He got a cool homemade beaded key chain from Treyson.

A picture and card from Abree.

A cool little homemade notebook from Taylee.

Some BSU (Boise State Bronco) converse shoes from Rylee.
She had seen them in the store and begged me to take her there to buy them with her own babysitting money.

And of course the photo cube, Family Yahtzee game and a few other things from me.

Happy Father's Day Honey!

When Grandpa Smullin got home from church and others had gathered, we did some more Father's Day celebrating.

Happy Father's Day Dad!

Father's Day Gifts

Got my CRAFT on for Father's Day.
Made some more photo cubes. One for my dad, one for my dad-in-law and one for Jason. Jason's resides on his desk at work.... making all his employees jealous. :)
Then I took these supplies....

Painted these blocks.....
And Mod Podged these photos.

To make a "Family Yahtzee" game of course!
We've played it once as a family. It's slightly harder to quickly see the numbers, but my kids LOVED to see their faces on the "dice". They would say things like, "Hey, pick me. I'll get you a Yahtzee" or "Thanks a lot. I could have had it if it weren't for YOU!"
