I Tweaked!

I resisted.......... then I tweaked!
I talked to Treyson a few days earlier and mentioned how awesome I thought it was that he surprised me with putting away Halloween and decorating for Thanksgiving.
Then I told him that I'd like to do some decorating too. He said, "Why? It's already done." I told him it was fun for me and I didn't get to have any fun decorating for Thanksgiving.

He watched me as I tweaked and seemed ok with the changes.
Whew!

Silhouette

"How Does She" is giving away a Silhouette cutting system.
This would be so fun to have.
Maybe I'll win one..... it would be a Christmas Miracle. :) J/K

Mice!

Call the exterminator... we may have a problem!
I volunteer in Abree's kindergarten class each week. Her teacher asked me if I could do a little sewing project for the class.
Sure.
I didn't know what I was getting myself into. She needed 110 of these little grey rodents cut, sewn and glued together.

Although they don't look like much, they took me several days and hours to complete 55. The other 55 will be completed by another "sewing mom". Whew!
I've been told they will go into a Christmas mouse book, attached by their long, grey yarn tail.
Not pictured. :)

Reflections

Treyson entered "Reflections" a national art contest, again this year.
This year's theme, "Together We Can...."
".....Be Colorful. Because people are colorful and our world is colorful." -Treyson Smullin
He made a watercolor rainbow last year and talked about doing another rainbow this year. I encouraged him to pick something else. He came up with kids wearing colorful shirts..... like a rainbow.
His first rendering had more kids and more colors, but in the end it looked like this.
He's hopeful and focused on a medal this year. (He has seen Taylee get one the last 2 years.) I talked to him about doing it for FUN and because he likes to draw, instead of doing it to win a medal. He said, "I know, I know. I will do it for fun..... and a medal."
Last year, he received a participation ribbon/certificate and that didn't seem nearly as FUN as a medal.
The day after turning it in, he started fretting about it coming back and if it had been judged yet. I told him that it takes a LONG time to get it back and he won't know for a LONG time. Really, we'll probably know after Thanksgiving break and an awards ceremony will be the first week of December, but for him it will be a LONG time.
I don't know whether to ask you to cross your fingers that Treyson gets a medal or wish me luck if he doesn't.

Handmade Gift Exchange

"Craftaholics Anonymous" is having a
"Handmade Gift Exchange".
Anyone interested in swapping, go to her site and sign up http://diaryofacraftaholic.blogspot.com/2010/11/dont-forget.html. Today's the last day, so hurry.
I've done several of these types of swaps or exchanges via the internet. They are SO much fun! Try it... you might like it. :)

Tweak!

To tweak..... or not to tweak..... that is the question.
One morning, as I was still in bed, I heard Treyson rustling around. I didn't think much of it, until I emerged. When I came out, I noticed he had put away all the Halloween decorations and replaced them with our Thanksgiving decorations.
Awww, sweet boy.
I've left them untouched for about a week now (not usually in my nature), but I'm not sure if I can hold out much longer.... especially since we have family/friends coming to Thanksgiving dinner.
So maybe the question isn't, "to tweak or not to tweak?", but "how long do I wait UNTIL I tweak?"
